About The Position

Prairie Farms Dairy is seeking a customer-service-oriented, self-motivated Route Driver for its Grass Lake, Michigan distribution team. The role delivers dairy products to customers across assigned routes and involves loading and unloading products, driving a semi-truck or straight truck, maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness, and managing product inventory and rotation. The position is based at a union location, and employees are home every night. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a start time between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. and an end time between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Pay begins at $27.40 per hour during training; after training, pay is $27.40 per hour plus commission. A Class B CDL is required.

Requirements

Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Meet DOT visual requirements and all physical requirements necessary for DOT qualification.
Ability to sit for long periods; use hands to handle or feel; and occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to occasionally lift or move 50 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

Load and unload dairy products for customer delivery.
Drive a semi-truck or straight truck to assigned customers on a route.
Push, pull, or lift products from cases, pallets, or bossies.
Perform daily vehicle safety checks and maintain a clean environment.
Follow company safety and regulatory policies, including DOT requirements.
Keep customer and truck inventory properly rotated and in stock.
Build strong customer relationships.
Follow company policies and procedures regarding GMPs, SOPs, and quality standards.
Prioritize demands and use available time effectively to achieve results.
Communicate effectively and maintain a professional manner.
Use problem-solving and decision-making skills as needed.
Demonstrate proficiency in essential job tasks and willingness to learn.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
