The Route Driver works from the company’s Box Elder location and delivers orders to local business customers along an assigned route. Typical days start at 5 a.m., with end times varying based on order size. General work weeks are approximately 45 hours over four days, Monday through Friday. Drivers pick up a packed trailer, follow the delivery route, build loads for delivery, read and scan delivery tickets, coordinate product placement with customers, obtain signatures, and develop relationships with repeat customers. Paid on-the-job training may be provided to candidates who need to obtain a CDL, including hands-on experience paired with another driver. The posting also describes a separate Shuttle Driver route: a 30-hours-per-week schedule over four to five days, transporting empty and loaded trailers between Box Elder, Chadron, and Rapid City. Shuttle routes generally start at 10 p.m. and return around 5 a.m., typically Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with Tuesday routes as needed. The shuttle position is expected to average around 25 hours weekly, but 30 hours are paid to make the position benefit eligible; paid hours are prorated if routes are not run.
