A Route Driver is responsible for the operation of a grease collection truck to collect used cooking oil, and/or a fat and bone collection truck for the removal and collection of raw material(s) from customer locations. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, and occasionally Saturday. This role involves pumping grease containers, ensuring cleanliness, securing containers, noting damages, and completing route tickets. For fat and bone removal routes, drivers collect and inspect raw materials for foreign or hazardous materials at customer locations, with some routes involving overnight stays. Drivers are required to maintain an electronic DOT log (or paper log if the electronic system is inoperable), provide customers with receipts, and obtain signatures. The position also requires responsible vehicle operation and maintenance in accordance with all regulations and company policies, including daily safety checks and inspections. Maintaining excellent customer relations through professional service is essential. The driver must complete all company-required paperwork daily, including route tickets, inspection reports, and mileage reports. The driver is responsible for their assigned route and must attend all safety meetings, with potential involvement in the Safety Committee. Other duties may be assigned by management.
