About The Position

Adelante Document Destruction is hiring a Route Driver to plan and coordinate customer pick-up and delivery routes for shredding receptacles, ensuring timely service. The role also supports facility operations and provides direct service to adults with developmental disabilities. Drivers operate a 24-foot box truck and may travel throughout New Mexico, including routes requiring overnight stays. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some overtime required. Pay starts at $23.00 per hour, and the role offers a $1,250 hiring bonus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of driving experience with a CDL Class B required.
• Valid New Mexico CDL Class B driver's license, an insurable driving record, and proof of current liability insurance.
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate a 24-foot box truck.
• Ability to read and write English and understand and interpret written procedures, as well as give and receive instructions verbally and in writing.
• Strong verbal communication and writing skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Sufficient mobility to visit various locations with little or no notice.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Availability for some overtime and routes throughout New Mexico, including required overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily route assignments and coordinate customer pick-ups and deliveries.
• Communicate relevant information to the direct supervisor by telephone.
• Ensure shipment volumes remain within capacity and monitor route progress to meet customer needs according to priority and geography.
• Perform shredding of pre-sorted and non-sorted paper using shredding machines.
• Wire finished bales as part of baling duties.
• Maintain shredding and baling equipment, including cleaning shredder blades and conveyor belts and greasing machine parts.
• Perform facility maintenance and other facility support duties as needed.
• Provide direct service to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
