ROUTE DRIVER - UTILITY (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Route Driver - Utility drives a company-owned truck over established routes to deliver and sell products or provide services. The role may cover a regular route or warehouse employee's absence and may assist Customer Service Managers with opening and closing operations and training new route service personnel. The driver delivers products such as beverages, bakery goods, specialty foods, snacks, and sundries; stocks vending machines; removes stale or unsold merchandise; collects money and replenishes bill and coin changers. The position records transactions and is accountable for cash and product. It also involves contacting existing customers about service adequacy, informing them of new products and services, and responding to service complaints. Drivers select and load products at the warehouse, prepare order forms, perform routine machine maintenance and sanitation, and set up promotional displays or provide promotional materials. Employees must maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform the job safely.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license and operate company vehicles safely in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provide route or location coverage during the absence of a regular route or warehouse employee.
- Potentially assist Customer Service Managers with daily opening and closing and training new route service personnel.
- Drive a truck to deliver beverages, bakery products, specialty foods, snacks, and sundries to customers.
- Stock vending machines, remove stale or unsold merchandise, collect money, and refill bill and coin changers.
- Record transactions using the appropriate card or electronic device and account for cash and product.
- Contact existing customers about service adequacy, inform them of new products or services, and address service complaints.
- Select products from the warehouse, load the truck, and prepare food and pastry order forms.
- Perform routine maintenance and sanitation of machines.
- Set up merchandise and promotional displays or provide promotional materials to customers.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform work safely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
