About The Position

Unitex is experiencing unprecedented growth and is seeking a highly skilled Route / Driver Supervisor for its facility in Hartford, CT. This role involves being on the road with drivers, covering routes when needed, and is not an office-based position. The territory covers Greater Connecticut, with a schedule of Monday - Friday, starting as early as 3:00 AM. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $65,000 per year, with actual compensation based on factors such as experience, seniority, location, and other permissible job-related factors.

Requirements

MUST BE 25 years old or older
MUST HAVE BEEN A DRIVER FOR A COMPANY as you will be driving a 26 ft box truck
Clean driver’s license - must pass MVR background check
Driving experience in a service environment needed
Demonstrated customer service skills
Strong management and communications skills
Must be able to supervise drivers
Efficient time management skills
Must be able to resolve issues in the appropriate time frame.
Must be organized with excellent follow-up skills
Very strong interpersonal and telephone skills.
Good with numbers
Job is physical in nature – must be able to lift heavy objects up/down stairs and load heavy items into trucks

Nice To Haves

3-5 years of supervisory experience in a service environment preferred

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain customer contact on a regular basis
Introduce new products/services to customers
Address issues regarding credit requests, credit and payment terms, contract status, service delivery frequency and service days with customers
Participate in route settlement with the goal of improving issue resolution, COD pickups, and paperwork integrity
Schedule new account installations, including day stop sequence, first deliveries and other matters with the customer
Other service related duties as appropriate
Supervises 3-5 route drivers. This includes hiring, training, developing and disciplining
Fills in for drivers as required
Regularly goes out with drivers to monitor driver’s customer service skills and job safety skills
