About The Position

Rotor technician performs incoming and final electrical and mechanical inspections on generator rotors, ensures availability of required bearings, seals and drive plates for at speed balance operations and performs at speed balancing of rotors. Requirements

  • Experience with overhead crane operation
  • Experience with forklift operation
  • Experience with micrometer and dial caliper usage
  • High speed balancing experience
  • Familiar with rotor winding processes
  • Familiar with electrical theory
  • Experience with dial indicator operation

Nice To Haves

  • Schenck training is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Performs all required electrical testing of generator rotors
  • Performs all required mechanical measurements of generator rotors
  • Performs disassembly and assembly of generator rotors
  • Assists with rotor winding stripping and winding operations
  • Performs at speed balancing of generator rotors
  • Performs at speed electrical testing of generator rotors
  • Performs electrical testing of exciter components
