The Float Rotor Wing Pilot is responsible for professionally and safely operating aircraft for LFN to facilitate care of critically ill and/or injured patients. Rotor Wing Pilots possess strong aviation skills, a keen sense of safety, superior customer service skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people, one-on-one and in large groups, sometimes in highly stressful situations. The Float Rotor Wing Pilot will be required to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Our float positions are full-time. The purpose of our float pilot is to cover open shifts on the schedule due to line pilot vacations, leave, etc. Seven shifts are guaranteed in the pay period, but may not be consecutive or all at the same base.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 2000 hours Total Time required
  • 1500 hours as Pilot in Command
  • 1000 hours R/W Turbine time required
  • 75 Instrument hours total – with at least 50 hours in aircraft instrument time required
  • 100 hours of unaided nighttime required
  • Must hold a FAA Commercial Helicopter Certificate with Instrument Helicopter Rating
  • Must have and maintain a FAA second class flight physical
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent grammar; verbal and written communication, and customer service skills
  • Travel by personal or company vehicle throughout LFN’s service area is required
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, have access to an automobile in good repair, be able to provide proof of auto insurance, meet LFN’s Driver’s Policy requirements and able to travel whenever or wherever business needs necessitate

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5 years’ experience as a professional pilot preferred
  • 100 hours instrument time preferred
  • Pilots with air medical transportation experience preferred
  • Pilots with NVG experience preferred
  • Mountain experience preferred. Experience evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

  • Performs pre- and post-flight inspections.
  • Plans flights, assists in loading of passengers, baggage and cargo, and analyzes weather conditions.
  • Maintains logs and records, as required, and prepares written reports
  • Operates aircraft tug, tractor, and/or ground handling equipment
