Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.
  • 5+ years of experience in rotor dynamics, vibration analysis, or related technical disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of high-speed rotating machinery dynamics and system behavior.
  • Experience with vibration diagnostics, modal analysis, and rotating equipment troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in modeling and simulation of rotating systems.
  • Experience applying digital signal processing techniques to engineering data.
  • Familiarity with software development and engineering analysis tools, with Python strongly preferred.
  • Experience using Finite Element Analysis software such as ANSYS or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical vibrations and system dynamics.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Q clearance is strong preferred.
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years working with gas centrifuges or other ultra-high-speed rotating systems.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze vibration and operational data.
  • Perform rotor dynamic modeling and simulations.
  • Support rotor balancing activities.
  • Help troubleshoot complex equipment behavior.
  • Conduct dynamic testing.
  • Apply digital signal processing techniques.
  • Develop custom diagnostic tools.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of test procedures and automation efforts.
  • Serve as a technical expert in rotor dynamics and vibration analysis.
  • Drive innovation across advanced centrifuge technology programs.
