Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or experience in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of two years of experience operating Class A equipment.
  • Class A CDL with the following endorsements: X (Tanker and Hazmat) and Doubles or Triples.
  • Must meet current driver qualifications as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Must have a current medical card.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Must possess Longer Combination Vehicle Certificate (LCV) or be able to obtain it within the introductory period.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer services skills.
  • Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to safely operate and/or maintain machinery, tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 50 plus pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering fuel.
  • Experience driving in winter conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook and Word) and able to use tablets for (ELD, maintenance, and hours of service tracking).

Responsibilities

  • Drive a commercial motor vehicle which requires a Class A Commercial Driver’s License
  • Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicles at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and in or out of tight areas.
  • Transport fuel in a timely and safe manner from load racks to retail and customer sites.
  • Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips. Submit record of duty status (HOS) via ELD mileage records and other records per DOT requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned, light maintenance, washing trucks, snow removal, and other terminal/warehouse tasks.
