The role is responsible for driving a designated route to load and/or unload fuel safely and in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or experience in lieu of education.
  • 2 years of Class A commercial driving experience.
  • Class A CDL with the following endorsements: X (Tanker and Hazmat) and Doubles or Triples.
  • Must meet current driver qualifications as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Must have a current medical card.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Must possess Longer Combination Vehicle Certificate (LCV) or be able to obtain it within the introductory period.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook and Word) and be able to use tablets for work instructions (ELD, maintenance, and hours of service tracking).
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer services skills.
  • Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to safely operate and/or maintain machinery, tools and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving “doubles” preferred.
  • Experience delivering fuel preferred.
  • Experience driving in winter conditions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a commercial motor vehicle which requires a Class A Commercial Driver’s License and a Hazardous Materials endorsement.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicles at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and in or out of tight areas.
  • Transport fuel in a timely and safe manner from load racks to retail and customer sites.
  • Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips.
  • Submit record of duty status (HOS), via ELD mileage records and other records per DOT requirements.
