About The Position

This is not a typical internship. At Amentum, you'll be on the front lines, directly supporting the United States Space Force Range Contract! Our mission is to deliver safe, innovative, and dependable space launch range operations, maintenance, and mission assurance services that enable the U.S. Space Force to execute critical launch and test operations while advancing national security objectives. This is your chance to move beyond the classroom and make a real impact on critical national defense and spacelift launch operations. Your work will matter from day one. As an Amentum rotational intern, you won’t be stuck in a single role. Instead, you'll dive into five mission-critical teams, working alongside top professionals to build a unique resume and be a part of the mission from every angle. Requirements

Must be at least a Sophomore, actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM-related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

Be a part of the mission, cycling through five critical teams: Systems Engineering, Hardware/Software Engineering, Range Systems, Range Operations, Cybersecurity.
Focus on the "big picture" in Systems Engineering, learning how critical subsystems, like Radar, Telemetry, and Meteorological systems, work together to ensure mission success.
Dive into the world of systems-level thinking, understanding the engineering process that governs how changes are executed across the entire range to ensure all parts function as one seamless system.
Get embedded with one of our expert sub-system engineering teams in Hardware/Software Engineering to focus on tangible upgrades.
Learn how to execute the design process for specific components and get a front-row seat to how modernized, cutting-edge equipment and software are integrated into our operational environment.
Learn how expert teams prepare and maintain the systems that are the mission's backbone, from tracking vehicles with Radar and Telemetry systems, to understanding the crucial Communication networks in Range Systems.
Observe mission control, the heart of space operations, during live launch operations, from the countdown through the flight, gaining a unique appreciation for the teamwork, processes, and split-second decision-making required to ensure mission success in Range Operations.
Enter the digital battlefield to defend our nation’s space assets in Cybersecurity.
Learn to hunt for weaknesses by learning basic and intermediate vulnerability scanning capabilities across a variety of hardware and software platforms.
Generate critical reports on findings and help create the Plan of Actions & Milestones (POAM) that directs remediation efforts.
Collaborate with diverse teams on cross-functional projects.
