About The Position

Sierra Peaks has an opening for a Rotation Engineer supporting our Albuquerque, NM office. This individual will gain exposure to various areas of engineering, including but not limited to Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Business Development/Sales, and Project Management. This role is Project Management and Engineering centric, so ideal candidates will want to gain experience in being a project manager while learning various engineering paths. This individual will be responsible to support and lead projects through the Albuquerque, NM office with direct supervision by the Director of Operations, NM. A successful candidate will have strong planning and organization skills and an ability to grasp various engineering concepts in a business environment. This candidate will also have the agility to learn quickly and be able to learn various projects that utilize different engineering skillsets. This role is based on business need, so the responsibilities outlined below can fluctuate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Experience planning, managing, and scheduling timely and successful completion of tasks is a plus (can be shown through education projects)

Responsibilities

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be drug-free
  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
  • Work with program managers and gain experience in the various operations at the Albuquerque facility including but not limited to software development, PCB design, procurement, production, and process improvements for the business.
  • Lead small scale projects in various technical areas: software, electromechanical assembly, and machining based on business needs.
  • Rotate through multiple career paths within the organization including but not limited to Engineering, Production, and Business Development.
  • Identify and resolve any project issues and work with customers and team members for resolution
  • Learn engineering skills to support existing and future projects
  • Participate in and seek out continuous improvement efforts to support operations
  • Communicate effectively to upper-level management and direct program managers
  • Must be self-motivated, able to prioritize work quickly and appropriately
  • Able to plan and facilitate meetings
  • Be an advocate for company culture
  • Other duties as assigned
