About The Position

This is a full-time, exempt level position. The Rotating Shift Supervisor will supervise the daily activities of safety, quality, and production procedures, as well as lead employees in all aspects of production during their shift. The role involves ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations, maintaining good working relationships, and implementing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, FSMA, and BRC requirements. Responsibilities include overseeing daily plant operations, managing food safety, quality control, production, cost optimization, and efficiencies. The position also involves implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) controls, promoting collaboration between departments, and being involved in lock-out/tag-out procedures and confined space entries. Continuous improvement initiatives, employee performance reviews, and development are key aspects of this role. Collaboration with the Quality Manager and managerial staff is essential to uphold quality standards and customer expectations. The supervisor will also monitor equipment, report concerns to maintenance, lead production employees, provide routine feedback, and assist with scheduling and production records. Administrative duties include interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, rewarding, focusing employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Developing positive relationships with plant management, planning, transportation, quality, and inventory control is also expected. Flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays, is required, along with the ability to collaborate with others in a dynamic environment and adapt to changes in work routine.

Requirements

  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job duties.
  • Capability of working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and ability to wear a respirator.
  • Ability to analyze information quickly to provide feedback in the manufacturing process and troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.

  • Prior work related and leadership experiences preferred
  • Peanut or oilseeds experience desirable.
  • Prior experience in PSM highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Display a dedication to lead, participate, and support all safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable to the position.
  • Responsible for supervising all production staff during shift.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all employees.
  • Adhere to and implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, FSMA and BRC requirements.
  • Be responsible for the daily plant operations, which include safety and environmental compliance, food safety, quality control, production, cost optimization and efficiencies.
  • Adhere to and implement controls for PSM (Process Safety Management) area.
  • Provide solutions and promote collaboration amongst the various groups such as production, maintenance and quality.
  • First line of involvement with lock out/tag out procedures and confined space entries.
  • Monitor, review, and suggest/direct initiatives for continuous improvement in all areas of operations.
  • Review employee performance and assist in employee development.
  • Work directly with Quality Manager and managerial staff to assure quality control standards and customer expectations are upheld throughout processing.
  • Observes equipment throughout facility and reports concerns to maintenance staff.
  • Leads work of all production employees.
  • Give feedback on a routine basis to all employees.
  • Assist with scheduling and daily production records as needed.
  • Administer supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and focusing employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Develop positive relationship with plant management, planning, transportation, quality and inventory control.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
