About The Position

We are looking for a Rotating Equipment Maintenance Specialist to lead and participate in rotating equipment maintenance. This role involves making recommendations to optimize equipment maintenance and overhaul costs. The specialist will collaborate with and guide rotating equipment maintenance activities, with or without OEM involvement, to improve equipment reliability and availability. They will also guide and support maintenance teams in onsite overhauls and repairs of large rotating equipment, with a dedication to all GOX compressors in our fleet. The role requires partnering with operations and engineering teams to identify and align on resolutions for recurring rotating equipment issues. The specialist will participate in the creation of Rotating Equipment Policies and Procedures, including job plans, overhaul strategies, routine maintenance inspections, and troubleshooting guidelines. They will review analysis to support preventive or predictive maintenance data, collaborate with intercompany experts and vendors, and participate in risk assessments. Recommendations for critical spare parts and inventory, inspection of new and refurbished parts, and coordination of equipment refurbishments and balancing are also key responsibilities. The role involves participating in Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), providing technical support to field locations, and participating in the development of maintenance schedules and budgets. Maintenance strategies will be modified based on RCA, FMEA results, or industry standards, and overhaul and maintenance job plans will be created, reviewed, and approved in CMMS.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of technical experience in Rotating Equipment operations, troubleshooting, and design
  • Detailed knowledge in the operation and maintenance of the compressors, turbines, pumps, and fans required in the air separation, CO2, and H2 manufacturing processes
  • Detailed knowledge of oxygen compression equipment including oxygen cleanliness a must
  • Lubrication knowledge and expertise
  • Proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and project planning software
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Leads and participates in rotating equipment maintenance.
  • Makes recommendations to optimize equipment maintenance and overhaul costs.
  • Collaborates with and guides rotating equipment maintenance activities with or without OEM involvement to improve the reliability/availability of the equipment.
  • Guides and supports maintenance teams in onsite overhauls and repairs of large rotating equipment, with a dedication to all GOX compressors in our fleet.
  • Partners with all operations and engineering teams to identify and foster alignment on resolutions for mitigation and prevention of recurring rotating equipment issues.
  • Participate in the creation of Rotating Equipment Policies and Procedures, including the creation or updating of job plans, overhaul strategies and procedures, routine maintenance inspections, and troubleshooting guidelines, as requested.
  • Reviews analysis to support follow-up with respect to preventive or predictive maintenance data (mechanical inspections, condition-based monitoring including vibration, oil analysis, temperature analysis, etc.).
  • Collaborates frequently with intercompany experts, large rotating equipment vendors and OEM’s. Meaningful engagement in the CoPs, KNOE and other similar groups to facilitate information sharing and competence improvements.
  • Makes recommendations to advance the efficiency of equipment maintenance and overhaul costs.
  • Participates in applicable risk assessment relating to large rotating equipment.
  • Makes recommendations for Capital Large Equipment Rotating Critical Spare Parts and overall inventories.
  • Inspects new and refurbished large rotating equipment critical spare parts upon receipt and prior to long term warehousing storage.
  • Supports and coordinates equipment refurbishments and rotor/wheel balancing at vendor refurbishment or machine shops.
  • Participates in all RCA’s (Root Cause Analysis) related to large rotating equipment and as needed for smaller equipment.
  • Participates in PSSR’s (local and global) as requested.
  • Provides technical support to field locations regarding troubleshooting, various inspection methodologies, and repair strategies as relates to Large Rotating Equipment.
  • Participates in the development of facility/zone annual maintenance schedules and budgets as requested and as it relates to rotating equipment.
  • Modifies maintenance strategies as necessary based upon the RCA, FMEA results or Outstanding Industry Standards.
  • Creates, reviews, and approves large rotating equipment overhaul and maintenance job plans in CMMS, as necessary.
