The Rotary Electronics Tech IV is responsible for support of highly sensitive HQ USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members, senior military leaders, and visiting foreign dignitaries. This role applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex electrical problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Work typically requires a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, and exercises independent judgment in performing tasks such as making circuit analysis and tracing relationships in signal flow. The technician will use test equipment to include Time Domain Reflectometers, Oscilloscopes, IFF Transponder Test Set and other radio and navigation test sets. They will perform, maintain, and provide technical direction to assigned personnel for various communication and electrical systems. This includes COMSEC Equipment and Keying Material, ARC-231 SATCOM, ADS-B, HUMS, and DAMA communication, clear and secure audio and communications, and electrical/environmental systems in troubleshooting, removal, repair, installation, modification, software upgrades, inspection, and operational check of systems and system components. The role also involves assisting personnel in researching and requisitioning parts, monitoring aircraft status, planning and coordinating workloads, ensuring data accuracy, assisting modification teams, monitoring quality assurance, ensuring access to technical data, maintaining supply discipline, and providing guidance on technical orders, checklists, and hazardous materials. Work may be reviewed by a supervisor for general compliance. Performs other duties as assigned within classification to include temporary duty and travel.
