About The Position

Tacten is recruiting for Rope Access Journeyperson Pipefitters to support our upcoming Fall Turnaround at our client site, CNRL, in Fort McMurray, AB! This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major turnaround project, expand your technical experience, and work alongside industry-leading professionals in a dynamic industrial setting.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Pipefitter Certification required
  • IRATA Level 1 certificate required, or willingness to obtain - training can be provided.
  • CSTS-09 -or- OSSA BSO
  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in industrial environments.
  • Strong work ethics
  • Ability to maintain positive working relations with clients
  • Exceptional safety and quality awareness
  • Ability to solve problems and manage time effectively
  • Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical and performance level
  • Valid driver's license
  • Effective communication in English

Nice To Haves

  • Certified in rope access or interested in becoming certified

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings.
  • Assemble and install piping systems and related equipment following specifications.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using various tools and equipment.
  • Install supports, valves, and other control equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair piping systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance to ensure system integrity and performance.
  • Replace defective or worn components as necessary.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work collaboratively with other trades, contractors, and team members.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and project managers regarding project status and any issues encountered.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and less experienced pipefitters.
