We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Room Service Server. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two or more years’ dining server experience required; fine dining preferred.
  • Casino experience preferred.
  • Must be able to handle several projects and tasks at the same time.
  • Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Food & Beverage team members.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Strong communication skills: Being able to speak clearly and effectively.
  • Attention to detail: Ensuring orders are correct and meeting guest needs.
  • Ability to multitask: Handling multiple tasks and orders efficiently.
  • Good organization skills: Maintaining a clean and tidy work area.
  • Physical stamina: Being able to stand or walk for long periods and lift trays or push carts.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Written communication skills in English may also be required.
  • Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
  • ServSafe certified.
  • Must successfully complete R.S.A.
  • All applicants must complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver food and beverages to guests in their hotel rooms while being prompt, friendly, and courteous.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, often over the phone.
  • Set up trays and tables for delivery according to established standards.
  • Carry trays of food and drinks to guest rooms.
  • Deliver food orders promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and adherence to presentation standards.
  • Ensure guests have all necessary items for their meal (condiments, utensils, etc.).
  • Check completed kitchen orders against the guest's original order.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous customer service.
  • Answer guest questions about the menu.
  • Make menu recommendations.
  • Handle cash, credit card payments, and room charges.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Anticipate guest needs and address them proactively.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including room service trays and equipment.
  • Pick up trays and carts from guest rooms.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Stock supplies for orders.
  • Enthusiastically support, actively promote, and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs, including Forbes standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Provide impeccable guest service to all guests: Being attentive, friendly, and helpful.
  • Assist other servers in giving the best possible service.
  • Handle guests’ receipts according to internal policy.
  • Remain up-to-date on casino events and hours of operation for all F&B outlets.
  • Follow established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.
  • Other duties as assigned
