St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Room Service Ambassador for our Ft. Thomas Nutrition Services team. This role involves serving meals to patients in a personalized, professional, and efficient manner, instructing patients on the meal ordering system, assisting them with placing orders, and assessing their capabilities to use the system. The ambassador will also communicate with the healthcare team to ensure patient nutritional intake and demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions. The role requires delivering and serving patient meals using service excellence standards, utilizing the AIDET model, and demonstrating professional and courteous behavior. Responsibilities include resolving patient meal issues, introducing and assessing patients to the meal ordering system, understanding diet types and restrictions, recognizing special patient needs, and providing assistance. Positive communication with nursing unit personnel is essential for proper glucose monitoring, menu delivery, and resolving meal concerns. The ambassador will also manage inventory, order, and replenish floor stock food supplies and maintain effective cash handling practices for patient guest tray service. Quality assurance includes consistent use of proper hand hygiene, isolation procedures, and hair restraints, maintaining a clean and professional appearance, and complying with all regulatory, safety, sanitation, and security standards. Participation in performance improvement studies and data collection is also expected.
