Room Attendant
About The Position
As a Room Attendant, you will ensure that rooms and suites are always fresh and welcoming for guests. You will create a haven for guests to escape and relax in, or get some last-minute work done. You will be responsible for making rooms special and memorable for guests, assisting guests with requests, and keeping your supervisor updated on room service progress and any needed repairs. You will also follow safety procedures, manage supplies and amenities to minimize waste, and handle lost and found property. Additionally, you will work as part of a team, communicate with other departments, and may assist with deep cleaning projects or turndown duties.
Requirements
- Fitness is important as it's a physical role and you'll be on your feet most of the day.
- Strength – with occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms and or push/pulling heavy objects.
- Ability to bend and kneel to complete some activities.
- Literacy skills - reading, writing and basic math's skills.
- Flexible attitude to shifts – may need to work nights, weekends and/or holidays.
- Successful completion of a Federal Background check, conducted by the Installation Visitor's Center, will be required to access the Installation.
- Annual renewal of Federal Background check will be required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure rooms and suites are always fresh and welcoming for guests.
- Make rooms special and memorable for guests.
- Assist guests with requests (e.g., toothbrush, directions).
- Keep supervisor updated on room service progress and alert them to any repairs needed.
- Follow established safety procedures and wear protective equipment when needed.
- Keep on top of supplies and amenities and minimize waste.
- Reunite items with owners and log any lost and found property.
- Wear uniform with pride.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
- Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.
- Report, turn in, and/or log all lost and found items according to established procedures.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service.
- May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects.
- May have turndown duties.
- May assist with other duties as assigned.
