Room Attendant
About The Position
As a Room Attendant, you will ensure that rooms and suites are always fresh and welcoming for guests. You will create a haven for guests to escape and relax in, or get some last-minute work done. You will be responsible for making rooms special and memorable for guests, assisting guests with requests, keeping your supervisor updated on room service progress, and alerting them to any repairs needed. You will also follow established safety procedures, wear protective equipment when needed, keep track of supplies and amenities, minimize waste, and log any lost and found property. Additionally, you will wear your uniform with pride, handle ad-hoc duties, monitor and control supplies, report lost and found items, work as part of a team, communicate with other departments, assist with deep cleaning projects, perform turndown duties, and assist with other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Fitness is important as it's a physical role and you'll be on your feet most of the day.
- Strength to occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms and/or push/pull heavy objects.
- Ability to bend and kneel to complete some activities.
- Literacy skills including reading, writing, and basic math skills.
- Flexible attitude to shifts, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Responsibilities

- Assist guests with requests such as needing a toothbrush or directions.
- Keep supervisor updated on room service progress and alert them to any repairs needed.
- Follow established safety procedures and wear protective equipment when needed.
- Keep track of supplies and amenities and minimize waste.
- Reunite items with owners and log any lost and found property.
- Wear uniform with pride.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as needed.
- Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.
- Report, turn in, and/or log all lost and found items according to established procedures.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service.
- May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects.
- May have turndown duties.
- May assist with other duties as assigned.
