About The Position

The Room Attendant role involves ensuring every guest feels welcomed and receives exceptional service, cleanliness, and care. A typical day includes preparing for room turnovers, efficiently planning cleaning tasks based on guest check-in/out status, and going above and beyond to anticipate guest needs, such as providing a kettle for tea drinkers or extra hangers. The position requires high standards for cleanliness, efficiency in work, and clear communication regarding any issues. Room Attendants are responsible for impeccably cleaning and sanitizing guest rooms, acting as an ambassador for the hotel and the city, and ensuring guests have the best possible stay.

Requirements

  • Some experience in housekeeping/cleaner.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
  • Understanding that SERVICE and CLEANLINESS are the keys to any successful hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and acknowledge guests and colleagues with a smile, nod or salutation.
  • Prepare for the day's turnover of rooms.
  • Meet every guest with exceptional service, cleanliness and care.
  • Obtain a list of rooms that have checked out, will be checking out or will be staying over to efficiently plan the day.
  • Prioritize tasks to be completed before the end of the shift.
  • Look for opportunities to go above and beyond for guests (e.g., placing a kettle, additional tea bags, or extra hangers).
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of the guest rooms.
  • Act as an ambassador to the hotel, surroundings and city.
  • Ensure guest rooms are impeccably cleaned, sanitized and ready for existing guests to return and new guests to arrive.
  • Be efficient in tackling a room and look for things that need to be corrected.
  • Communicate issues through appropriate channels.
  • Take immense pride in the quality and cleanliness of the product.
  • Follow company policies and standards such as sanitizing high touch areas and other outlined requirements.
  • Clean stay over rooms at a convenient time for guests.
  • Clean check-out rooms in time for the day's arrivals.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure any special requests are met in a timely fashion.
  • Take on additional administrative tasks as set forth by leaders.
  • Maintain a calm and welcoming demeanor while multitasking to handle guest interactions and daily tasks.
  • Listen respectfully when guests have complaints, empathize, and work with the guest to come to a resolution or loop in a manager if necessary.
  • Follow all company and brand standards to maintain cleanliness levels.
