The Room Attendant is responsible for the thorough cleaning of guestrooms, including replacing all linen and towels, vacuuming, dusting, replacing guest supplies, and detailed bathroom cleaning. This role requires responsiveness to guest requests and effective communication. The position involves bending and lifting. The Room Attendant ensures assigned rooms are cleaned to a high standard, contributing to guest comfort and satisfaction. Daily inspection of assigned rooms, including vacant maintenance (VM) and vacant ready (VR) rooms, is required, with prompt reporting of discrepancies to the Housekeeping Supervisor. Rechecking rooms at departure times and reporting their status for efficient turnover is also a key duty. Reporting any maintenance needs to the Engineering department or Housekeeping Supervisor ensures timely repairs. Courteous entry into guest rooms, including knocking and announcing, is expected. Upon entry, all trash is to be picked up, and any missing items reported. Linens are changed and beds are made according to brand standards. Bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned, and standard bathroom items are properly placed. Dusting, vacuuming, cleaning inside drawers, and checking under beds are part of maintaining tidiness. The housekeeping cart must be restocked for the next day. Keys and the cart are turned in at the end of the shift. Lost and found items are reported to the appropriate department. Room service trays are removed from rooms and placed in the hallway. Rollaway beds are made up and housekeeping aides are notified for removal. Maintaining a high level of guest hospitality and professionalism is essential.
