About The Position

This position is open until 7/30/2026 or until filled. The Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station is a 233-room hotel on the edge of the Union Station neighborhood. Denver is at our doorstep: Union Station, Coors Field, and the Museum of Contemporary Art are all within a half-mile. We are within a mile of Ball Arena events, with city dining all around, including our own Woodie Fisher Kitchen and Bar – the oldest structure remaining in Denver’s iconic Union Station neighborhood.

Requirements

  • No formal schooling or training required.
  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is desirable.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, the use of cleaning products, and the operation of cleaning equipment.
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent vision required; emphasis on cleanliness standards and quality control.
  • Must have upper body strength to lift up to 50 lbs continuously throughout the course of the work shift.
  • Must have the strength to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture throughout the course of the work shift.
  • Must be able to work with arms raised above head throughout the course of the work shift.
  • Must be able to maneuver a fully loaded cleaning cart weighing up to 50 lbs through hallways and in and out of closets throughout the course of the entire work shift.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas in accordance with property established cleaning standards to ensure guest satisfaction and maximize profits.
  • Removes items from shelves and storage and prepares the cleaning cart with supplies; constantly maintains the cleaning carts and storage areas in a clean and orderly condition to encourage efficiency and make it easier to clean rooms.
  • Cleans and wipes down windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in guest rooms, public areas and hallways, frequently using a step stool or ladder to clean hard-to-reach areas in order to maintain a clean, presentable and attractive facility at all times.
  • Washes shower and tub walls, cleans and disinfects toilets and toilet seats, and wipes down exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls to ensure public and guest bathrooms are clean and sanitary.
  • Replenishes towels, soaps and all other amenities in the room and restocks printed materials that the previous guest took or that are stained or broken to ensure there is an adequate supply for the next guest.
  • Hand washes all floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) to remove dirt and clean up spots.
  • Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures and wall-hanging items, including using a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners to remove dust and cobwebs.
  • Removes all linens from the beds and re-makes the beds with fresh linens, checking the cleanliness of bedspreads, blankets and mattress pads, replacing them if they are soiled.
  • Lifts mattresses to check for stains between mattresses and under beds.
  • Checks the cleanliness of the closet, wipes down the closet door, handle and top shelf and replenishes guest room items such as hangers, extra blankets and pillows.
  • Vacuums the rooms, public areas and hallways operating vacuums that weigh as much as 25 pounds and lifts and moves heavy furniture to vacuum the entire carpet area, including under furniture and in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Inspects all door and window locks to ensure they are functioning properly and immediately alerts management to address an unsafe or hazardous situation in order to ensure the safety of guests and employees.
  • Inspects all room equipment (TV, lights/lamps, faucets, radios) to ensure they are functioning properly and immediately reports in writing the condition of the room and any maintenance deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper so that the situation can be repaired or resolved without delay.
  • Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies at all times in order to protect and conserve hotel assets.
