Requirements

  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Respect the importance that impeccably clean guest room supplies have in a hotel.
  • Ability to communicate well with guests.
  • Willing to “pitch-in”, lead by example, and be a team player.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements/controls and applications of chemicals.
  • Knowledge of policies applicable to housekeeping and laundry especially those related to safety, guest security and hotel property.
  • Supervisory skills to manage the housekeeping operations.
  • Ability to effectively deal with associates.
  • Ability to continuously inspect rooms and work collectively with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and direction for all housekeeping and laundry activities of the hotel to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are maintained.
  • Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
  • Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents and wearing of PPE.
  • Strip and make beds, changing bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly.
  • Push and pull vacuum throughout the entire room and empty trash.
  • Ensure all electronic equipment, plumbing fixtures operate.
  • Complete daily room refreshment as per guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory counts and controls.
  • Maintain work areas clean and organized which includes restocking of carts and floor linen areas.
  • Adhere to departmental standards on a safe work environment. Working alone, use of wet floors signs in public and BOH areas. Needle disposal units, biohazard wash bags used if required.
  • Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest room.
  • Sign for room keys, retrieve, push to assigned rooms and restock heavy cart. Visually inspect the room for cleanliness and appearance and signify completion for room.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned in the housekeeping dept & laundry.
  • Report any damage / deficiencies to housekeeping leadership, maintenance departments.
  • Handle lost and found in accordance with polices implemented at the property.
  • Assist co workers to complete tasks as required.
  • Assist in houseperson back of house and front of house duties (public areas, restaurant and event space as assigned.
