About The Position

Carmana Hotel & Suites, located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Houseperson to join our dedicated team. As a hybrid property, we offer both nightly stays in our spacious suites and extended stays in our high-rise residences, all designed with comfort, style, and guest satisfaction in mind. We are currently seeking a full-time Room Attendant who will play a key role in maintaining our hotel’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation. As an ambassador of the hotel, the Room Attendant supports the housekeeping team and ensures all guest suites are clean, welcoming, and reflective of our commitment to excellence in guest service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. With at least one year of experience in a similar role, they are a proactive team player who takes pride in their work and is ready to go the extra mile to support a first-class guest experience. This is a physically active role that requires stamina, focus, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, meticulous, and methodical in performing duties.
  • Commitment to providing quality customer service with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Open to constructive feedback and new ideas, maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
  • Able to develop strong, positive, and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains a high-level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Level one first aid certificate, an asset.
  • Adaptable and willing to take on different duties beyond the Room Attendant role as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize guest suites, including bedrooms, bathrooms, balconies, closets, and furnishings.
  • Make beds with fresh linens and replace towels, laundry bags, slips, and bathroom amenities in correct quantity and placement.
  • Maintain housekeeping cart and equipment in clean, safe working order, replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchenettes, including appliances, cabinets, utensils, and cutlery, and replace kitchen amenities.
  • Vacuum carpets, wipe floors, clean windows, ledges, doors, drapes, vents, and balconies/patios, and spray rooms with deodorizer as required.
  • Dust and polish furniture, mirrors, lamps, light switches, and other fixtures, ensuring all surfaces are spotless and free from debris.
  • Inspect furniture, fixtures, and appliances for proper working condition, reporting damages and adjusting thermostats and clocks as needed.
  • Empty trash bins, ice buckets, and vacuum bags, ensuring rooms are fresh and guest ready.
  • Update room status on assignment sheets and promptly report lost-and-found items or irregular issues to Management.
  • Deliver courteous, friendly, and professional service to all guests and collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.
