About The Position

The Room Attendant position requires an individual who can lead by example, demonstrating effective listening and communication skills, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The role demands good judgment, discretion, problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service. Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to complete the I-9 form within the first 3 days of employment.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of room attendant experience.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the property.

Responsibilities

  • Regular attendance and reporting to work on time, ready to begin your shift.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Understanding and following instructions as directed by supervisor/manager.
  • Working safely and following all safety policies.
  • Performing job duties as described.
  • Leading and managing others in the absence of the Housekeeping Supervisor, including training new hires, coaching, leading by example, and providing feedback.
  • Inspecting rooms and public areas daily to ensure compliance with department standards and guest expectations.
  • Assisting staff in cleaning and maintaining the hotel; ability to perform all Room Attendant duties.
  • Being polite, courteous, and helpful to all guests and coworkers, displaying a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Acknowledging guests with a smile and a friendly greeting.
  • Promptly attending to guest needs.
  • Complying with all hotel policies and procedures.
  • Complying with guest privacy standards.
  • Reporting all injuries occurring while on duty immediately.
  • Acting as a safety and security agent by identifying and reporting potential risks.
  • Arriving to work on time and in appropriate work attire.
  • Completing work in a timely manner and meeting productivity standards.
  • Keeping the work area clean, neat, and well-organized.
  • Demonstrating team behavior and working effectively with others.
  • Seeking approval from management prior to working overtime.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Completing tasks according to required standards within set time limits.
  • Stocking carts sufficiently based on room assignments.
  • Utilizing reports from the Executive Housekeeper to maximize efficiency.
  • Wearing protective gear such as gloves, goggles, and kneepads.
  • Removing all dirty linen from beds and bathrooms and assessing for blood-borne pathogens.
  • Removing trash and replacing liners.
  • Making beds neatly with fresh sheets and pillowcases.
  • Cleaning mirrors, windows, and frames.
  • Dusting all furniture, fixtures, and frames.
  • Ensuring furnishings and fixtures are cleaned and placed properly.
  • Performing deep cleaning tasks when necessary.
  • Cleaning the entire bathroom, including floors, tubs, toilets, sinks, and surfaces.
  • Reading and following safety labels on chemical bottles and understanding the uses of all cleaning equipment.
  • Cleaning carpeting with a vacuum.
  • Turning in all articles found in the room to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Ensuring all guest supplies are replenished daily.
  • Verifying items in the guest room are in good working order.
  • Communicating problems needing repair to maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Reporting to Supervisor any potential dangers.
  • Promoting security by keeping doors locked and restricting access to guest rooms.
  • Keeping carts in front of doorways while inside the guest room.
  • Reporting damage, abuse, or smoking in non-smoking rooms to the Supervisor.
  • Checking the climate control for working conditions.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $19.00 hourly
  • Compensation: $20 - $22 hourly
