Summary of Position The Housekeeping Room Attendant will provide for the comfort of guests by ensuring that guest rooms and public areas are clean and properly presented. Housekeeping Room Attendants promote a positive image of the property to our guests, and must be pleasant, friendly and able to address problems or special requests.

Requirements

  • One (1) year prior experience in similar cleaning position.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

Responsibilities

  • Vacuum, Clean, Dust and Polish guest rooms
  • Routine thorough cleaning of bedrooms and bathrooms including all fittings and surfaces.
  • Stripping and making of beds. The replacement of all towels and linen etc., as required.
  • Stock and sort supplies
  • Promote a positive image of the property by displaying a pleasant and upbeat personality during each guest interaction and being comfortable responding to and carrying out specific guest needs and requests.
  • Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guest: ex. cribs, rollaway beds, etc.
  • Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
  • Perform rotation cleaning duties
  • Keeping pantries tidy, correctly stacked according to the labels on the shelves and closed at all times when not actually in use.
  • Replenishing guest supplies e.g. toiletries
  • Cleaning the corridors by vacuuming, cleaning mirrors, credenzas, and elevators.
  • Reporting defects in rooms. Report any maintenance issues.
  • Carry out any other cleaning duties as specified by Housekeeping leadership.
  • To maintain the rooms for which they are responsible each day to the highest possible standard of cleanliness and good order.
  • To assist in any way that may be necessary to ensure the efficiency and smooth running of the Housekeeping Department.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned that may be outside the normal scope of duties based on business needs.
