About The Position

Our client is looking for someone who gets genuinely excited about the craft, complexity, and business of high-end roofing. This is not a commodity roofing sales role. It is a relationship-driven, technically focused position for someone who wants to become a true expert in premium roofing systems and a trusted advisor to homeowners, architects, builders, and general contractors. The ideal candidate is naturally curious and motivated to learn the technical side of slate, clay tile, cedar shingle, architectural sheet metal, and other premium roofing systems. They do not need to arrive as the finished expert, but they do need to have the drive and enthusiasm to become one. We want someone who enjoys learning how systems are designed, why details matter, and how craftsmanship affects long-term performance. This role blends technical consulting, estimating, project management, relationship management, and sales. The right candidate will learn how to evaluate roofs, develop scopes of work, estimate projects, present solutions, manage client relationships, and ultimately close work while ensuring projects are executed successfully from concept through completion. The person who succeeds here will combine technical curiosity, emotional intelligence, professionalism, and competitive drive. They should want to become the person clients call first when they need guidance on their home, building, or roofing project. At its core, this role is about becoming a trusted expert in a highly specialized industry while helping grow one of the region’s most respected roofing companies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales, project management, estimating, or client-facing roles, preferably within the roofing or construction industry.
  • Strong interest in architecture, craftsmanship, specialty construction, or premium building systems.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across a wide range of clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and eager to grow professionally within the company.
  • Comfortable working independently while also collaborating across departments.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with high-end residential or specialty roofing systems.
  • Familiarity with project management software, estimating tools, or CRM systems.
  • Experience working with general contractors, architects, or custom home builders.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local building codes, permits, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between the company and homeowners, architects, builders, general contractors (GCs), and other project stakeholders.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships through responsiveness, professionalism, and trust.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project needs, gather client requirements, and provide expert guidance on roofing solutions.
  • Maintain proactive and clear communication with clients throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Present repair and replacement options in a consultative and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Understand that smaller service opportunities and repairs are relationship-building opportunities that can lead to future projects.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate labor, material, and cost estimates.
  • Develop detailed scopes of work and professional proposals for homeowners, contractors, and commercial clients.
  • Present project recommendations and proposals confidently while addressing questions and concerns.
  • Collaborate internally to ensure estimates align with operational capabilities and project objectives.
  • Manage projects from initial consultation through completion while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure thorough and intentional project handoffs to operations teams with clear scope definitions, assumptions, and client expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, production, and finance teams to maintain alignment throughout project execution.
  • Support change orders, scope revisions, scheduling coordination, and client communication as project conditions evolve.
  • Remain engaged during execution as a technical and relational resource when needed.
  • Develop and maintain deep technical knowledge of roofing systems including slate, clay tile, cedar shingle, asphalt shingles, and architectural sheet metal systems.
  • Leverage knowledge of roofing materials, installation methods, and construction best practices to guide clients and support successful project outcomes.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements, roofing innovations, manufacturer specifications, and local building codes.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor to other team members when appropriate.
  • Continuously improve understanding of craftsmanship, detailing, waterproofing principles, and long-term roof system performance.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through relationship development and networking.
  • Develop credibility with homeowners, builders, architects, and contractors to generate repeat and referral business.
  • Understand that trust, service, and technical expertise drive long-term sales success.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and grow key accounts over time.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and reputation of Jack’s Roofing Company within the market.
  • Demonstrate initiative in learning technical roofing systems, estimating practices, and project management processes.
