The Roofer constructs and assembles trailer components by interpreting blueprints, drawings, sketches, samples, and written or verbal instructions. The role uses measuring, cutting, machining, and assembly tools to produce finished work that meets the standards and requirements in work orders and drawings. The Roofer works with teammates, leads, and supervisors to address product and process issues and supports lean manufacturing practices, including 5S, point-of-use storage, and Kanban systems. Reassignment to other departments may be required based on production needs. The position requires prior manufacturing experience, safe handling of job-related tools, reliable attendance, and timely, quality work. Work takes place in a combination of non-climate-controlled indoor areas and outdoors, with exposure to weather, extreme temperatures, noise, and welding fumes and smoke. The role requires standing and moving for up to eight hours per shift and during required overtime, along with frequent bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and ladder climbing. Workers regularly lift or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds; items over 50 pounds require a team lift. Required PPE includes safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, and fall protection when working on top of trailers.
