Roofer Helper / Entry-Level Commercial Roofer
About The Position
JB Roofing, A Tecta America Company, is looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who want to build a career in commercial roofing. Previous roofing experience is not required. If you're willing to learn, comfortable working outdoors and at heights, and enjoy working as part of a team, this is an opportunity to learn a skilled trade while earning competitive pay and benefits. You'll work alongside experienced Foremen and roofing professionals while learning how to safely install, maintain, and repair commercial roofing systems. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license required
- No previous roofing experience required
- High school diploma or GED not required
- Willingness and ability to learn on the job
- Ability to safely work at heights and climb ladders
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to work as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
Nice To Haves
- Previous roofing or construction experience is a plus, but not required
- Previous roofing experience is not required. Candidates with roofing or construction experience are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial roofing systems and accessories.
- Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements, including proper use of PPE and fall protection.
- Learn how to work with a variety of commercial roofing systems and materials.
- Learn the safe and proper use of roofing tools, equipment, and materials.
- Follow instructions from Foremen, Crew Managers, and experienced roofers.
- Assist crew members with daily roofing tasks and jobsite needs.
- Learn to recognize the next steps in roofing installations as your skills and experience develop.
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.
- Work collaboratively with other crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
- Perform other roofing and project-related duties as assigned.
