About The Position
The Roof Systems Design Release Engineer (DRE) is responsible for the engineering, design, development, validation, timing, and production release of sunroof systems. The Engineer will have end-to-end ownership of their components, ensuring they meet vehicle functional objectives. Responsibilities include component design, development, and packaging; Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing; change management; bill of material maintenance; prototype and production build support; issues management; CAD model management in Teamcenter; weight reduction, cost reduction, and other efficiency improvement initiatives; and communicating technical product status to management. Additionally, the role involves supporting vehicle assembly plants for any product technical issues, supporting service teams for any field warranty issues, and assisting in root cause analysis of failures.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related degree field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in sun roof systems or similar mechanisms
- Demonstrated leadership skills

- Mechatronic component design and release experience
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficiency in advanced CAD software such as NX, CATIA or SolidWorks
- Experience in power top, convertible top or sunroof components
