About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. Bullitt County Stone, an underground limestone mine/quarry located in Shepherdsville, KY, is seeking a ROOF BOLTER OPERATOR for its underground operation. This is a full-time, 1st shift position with a starting pay of $23/hr, with additional pay determined by experience and skill set. The successful candidate will have experience operating mining equipment in an underground environment with a strong focus on safety. Responsibilities include operating a roof bolter, and potentially assisting with ground maintenance, mine ventilation, operating an excavator with a scaler attachment, and operating a face drill for blasting preparation. The role requires adherence to company policies and OSHA/MSHA/Environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
  • Willing to work in an underground mining environment.
  • Able to operate underground mining equipment with precision and excellence in a confined space.
  • Physically capable of shoveling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work underground and outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, climb, and walk for extended periods of time throughout the day.

  • Ability to be coached and pick up on new tasks quickly.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug-screening.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one-year of proficient experience operating underground mining equipment – such as a roof bolter, face drill, or scaler – is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operating a roof bolter in an underground limestone mine.
  • Training to operate an excavator with scaler attachment to scale rock from mine walls.
  • Training to operate a face drill to prepare headings for the blasting process.
  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Help on the ground maintaining safety items and keeping the mine well ventilated.
