About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. Bullitt County Stone, an underground limestone mine/quarry located in Shepherdsville, KY, is seeking a ROOF BOLTER OPERATOR for its underground operation. This is a full-time, 1st shift position with a starting pay of $23/hr, with additional pay determined by experience and skill set. The successful candidate will have experience operating mining equipment in an underground environment with a strong focus on safety. Responsibilities include operating a roof bolter, and potentially assisting with ground maintenance, mine ventilation, operating an excavator with a scaler attachment, and operating a face drill for blasting preparation. The role requires adherence to company policies and OSHA/MSHA/Environmental regulations.

Requirements

Able to operate underground mining equipment with precision and excellence in a confined space.
Physically capable of shoveling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work underground and outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, climb, and walk for extended periods of time throughout the day.

Ability to be coached and pick up on new tasks quickly.
Must pass pre-employment drug-screening.

Nice To Haves

At least one-year of proficient experience operating underground mining equipment – such as a roof bolter, face drill, or scaler – is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operating a roof bolter in an underground limestone mine.
Training to operate an excavator with scaler attachment to scale rock from mine walls.
Training to operate a face drill to prepare headings for the blasting process.
Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
Help on the ground maintaining safety items and keeping the mine well ventilated.
