About The Position

P.J. Fitzpatrick is seeking an experienced technician to inspect, diagnose, and complete residential roof and exterior repairs. This customer-facing position involves identifying the source of exterior problems, recommending appropriate solutions, performing quality repairs, and identifying additional ways to help homeowners protect their property. The role combines hourly pay with performance-based incentives. Base pay is $23–$25 per hour, with commission and incentives for qualifying billable repair services and converted leads or larger project opportunities. The posting reports an average monthly incentive payout of approximately $3,500, median annual income of approximately $85,000, and annual earnings above $100,000 for top-performing technicians; actual earnings vary with performance and production. Requirements

At least three years of hands-on residential exterior repair or installation experience.
Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing roof leaks.
Experience repairing or replacing fascia, soffit, exterior trim, siding, flashing, and related components.
Ability to operate a metal brake and complete professional aluminum capping work.
Working knowledge of roofing systems, exterior materials, installation methods, and water-management principles.
Ability to independently assess problems and determine effective repair solutions.
Comfort discussing repair recommendations, pricing, and additional service opportunities with homeowners.
Strong customer-service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift and carry materials, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding exterior work.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Experience repairing, adjusting, or replacing residential windows and doors.
Previous experience in an in-home service, repair-sales, or commissioned technician role.
Experience generating leads or identifying larger replacement opportunities during service appointments.
Familiarity with residential remodeling, punch lists, or exterior home improvement products.

Responsibilities

Inspect residential roofing and exterior components to diagnose leaks, damage, and other repair needs.
Troubleshoot and repair roof leaks involving shingles, flashing, pipe collars, vents, valleys, and other common water-entry points.
Repair fascia, soffit, trim, siding, gutters, and related exterior components.
Measure, bend, fabricate, and install aluminum trim and exterior capping using a metal brake.
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment needed for exterior repairs.
Explain inspection findings, repair recommendations, pricing, and available solutions to homeowners.
Identify additional exterior needs and present relevant products or services to customers.
Generate and convert qualified leads for larger home improvement projects when additional work is identified.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, materials, recommendations, and project outcomes.
Keep vehicles, tools, materials, and job sites clean, organized, and properly maintained.
Follow company procedures, manufacturer requirements, and safety standards.
