About The Position

MCC, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Rolling Stock Diesel Mechanic specializing in mixers for their Appleton, Wisconsin location. This role involves routine maintenance, diagnostic work, troubleshooting, and repairs on a fleet of ready-mix concrete trucks and their associated systems, including electrical, brake, transmission, and pneumatic controls. The mechanic will also be responsible for performing DOT inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations. Collaboration and effective communication within a team are essential. The position may also require fabrication, modification, or installation of special equipment or replacement parts using various tools like welders, torch sets, plasma cutters, and metal cutting saws. Safety is paramount, and mechanics are expected to work safely around moving equipment and traffic, maintain a clean work environment, and adhere to all company and regulatory policies. MCC, Inc. values versatility, and employees may be required to cross-train on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of mechanical experience or training preferred.
  • Must provide your own basic set of tools with the ability to expand tools as needed.
  • Self-motivated with independent judgment skills to perform work tasks without supervision.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written; including the ability to provide and comprehend clear instructions or directions (both general and technical).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure quality of work.
  • Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills) with the ability to respond to emergencies quickly.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, with an understanding of basic math skills preferred.
  • Ability to assess various job site hazards and work safely to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Possess valid State of Wisconsin driver's license and satisfactory driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance on a fleet of ready-mix concrete trucks.
  • Conducting diagnostic work, troubleshooting, and completing repairs on trucks and their related systems (electrical controls, brake systems, transmissions, pneumatic controls).
  • Performing DOT inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations.
  • Communicating effectively and working in a team environment to provide technical assistance and collaborate on repairs.
  • Fabricating, modifying, or installing special equipment or replacement parts using welders, torch sets, plasma cutters, metal cutting saws, or other specialized equipment.
  • Working safely on all job sites, around all types of moving equipment and traffic.
  • Maintaining a clean working environment and ensuring compliance with all workplace rules and regulations.
  • Cross-training on other duties or work tasks as assigned.
