Responsibilities
- Use Ajax to size intermediate and finishing mills for set up
- Keeping all stands (1-16) at designed size
- Calibrating, cleaning, setting up including adjusting roll stands
- Maintain expected production rates
- Inspection of new stands after installation in mill to ensure proper set-up before rolling
- Monitoring equipment operation (e.g., speed, pressure, temperature) to prevent jams and defects
- Other duties, but not limited to; Material loader, Furnace Operator, Lily Pad, Hot bed, Cold shear, Scale, Bundling, Mill Adjuster, Wood/Wire, Stand Installation, Greasing/Oiling, Sprocket/Chains (mill changeover), SteelMES, Axle sorting, Axle inventory, Fork Truck operation, Overhead crane, Oxy/Gas Torch cutting, Material testing
