NSBHM Rolling Mill Automation & Electrical Technician
About The Position
The Rolling Mill Automation & Electrical Technician provides electrical support through automation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment. The role responds to calls and helps ensure continuous production-line operations, performs preventive maintenance, and configures, programs, monitors, and troubleshoots PLCs, network switches, servers, and HMI workstations. The technician also develops and implements continuous-improvement projects. Safety is a central responsibility, including initiating, leading, and upholding safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Requirements
- Three years of experience in electrical maintenance; equivalent electrical training or military experience will be considered.
- Extensive knowledge of power distribution, motor control centers, instrumentation, automated systems, PLC and HMI programming, and variable frequency drive troubleshooting in a manufacturing facility.
Nice To Haves
- Two-year degree in electrical maintenance technology and three or more years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
- Extensive AC and DC motors and drives experience.
- Knowledge and experience with power systems maintenance.
- Extensive PLC systems building, programming, and troubleshooting experience.
- HMI Wonderware and Factory Talk building, programming, and troubleshooting experience.
- Basic pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical support through automation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
- Respond to calls and help ensure continuous operations of production lines.
- Perform preventive maintenance functions.
- Configure, program, monitor, and troubleshoot PLCs, network switches, servers, and HMI workstations.
- Develop and implement continuous-improvement projects.
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
