NSBHM Rolling Mill Automation & Electrical Technician
About The Position
The Rolling Mill Automation & Electrical Technician provides electrical support through automation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment. The role responds to calls to help ensure production lines continue operating and performs preventive maintenance. It also involves configuring, programming, monitoring, and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs), network switches, servers, and HMI workstations, as well as developing and implementing continuous-improvement projects. Safety is emphasized, and the technician is expected to uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in electrical maintenance; equivalent electrical training or military experience will be considered.
- Extensive knowledge of power distribution, motor control centers, instrumentation, automated systems, PLC and HMI programming, and variable frequency drive troubleshooting in a manufacturing facility.
Nice To Haves
- A two-year degree in electrical maintenance technology and three or more years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
- Extensive AC and DC motors and drives experience.
- Knowledge and experience with power systems maintenance.
- Extensive PLC systems building, programming, and troubleshooting experience.
- HMI Wonderware and Factory Talk building, programming, and troubleshooting experience.
- Basic pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical support through automation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
- Respond to calls and help ensure continuous operation of production lines.
- Perform preventive maintenance functions.
- Configure, program, monitor, and troubleshoot PLCs, network switches, servers, and HMI workstations.
- Develop and implement continuous-improvement projects.
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
