Requirements

  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work a 10-hour shift schedule, to include weekly rotating shifts (days and nights)
  • Some overtime will be required
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift

Responsibilities

  • Ensure rolls are cut to good quality standards to meet Rolling Mill needs
  • Manage daily operations to include cutting Rolling Mill rolls, spray welding roll passes, overseeing lathe maintenance/tooling and inventory
  • Managing and tracking inventory, ordering rolls
  • Operate CNC turning machines, cutting rolls used in the rolling mill process.
  • Visually inspect rolls, torches, withdraws, control panels, spray chamber equipment, gas/oxygen lines, and quality of billets
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
  • Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
  • Ability to troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
  • Perform minor/routine maintenance or repairs as needed to equipment without the assistance of maintenance personnel
