About The Position

JP Mascaro & Sons, a locally owned and operated private family-owned company, is experiencing record growth and success. Founded in 1964 with one truck, it has grown into one of the largest and most successful fully integrated solid waste companies serving the mid-Atlantic area. The Lehigh Valley Division, located in Allentown, PA, is seeking reliable, motivated, and hardworking Roll Off Drivers to play a critical role on the solid waste collection team. This role supports the company's ongoing success in a family-like environment while safely and responsibly removing the community's trash and recycling. Requirements

A valid PA Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class B or equivalent) with air brake endorsement.
Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements.
Pass a substance abuse screening.
Ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers.
Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to prevent damage to truck, equipment, or surrounding items.
Ability to sit in the cab of the truck for long periods.
Able to bend, stoop, and climb into and out of the vehicle and body unassisted multiple times a day.
Ability to push/pull heavy wheeled containers requiring heavy pushing/pulling force.
Ability to lift 75 pounds.
Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
May be required to exit and enter truck multiple times during a shift and may be required to push/pull wheeled containers weighing up to several hundred pounds into position for pick up.

Responsibilities

Operate a front load trash truck in accordance with DOT Regulations, Company policy, and established standards for excellent customer service on established subscription routes or municipal territories.
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the truck, as well as any helpers assigned to the truck.
Transport and dump municipal wastes at a regulated transfer station or approved landfill.
Coordinate regularly with the Route Supervisor, Dispatch, or Operations Manager to ensure all stops are picked up, receive special instructions, and communicate any questions regarding materials, overweight, or oversized items.
Obtain load weight tickets and sign for loads, maintaining any related records required (e.g., driver’s log, route sheets, work orders, special request work, missed pick up logs).
Clean the truck daily to meet company expectations, including the cab, and ensure no trash remains after the route is completed.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined in the pre and post-trip vehicle condition report.
Report any maintenance issues on the vehicle condition report (VCR) immediately to the route supervisor or operations manager.
Perform other duties as assigned.
