Roll Mounter - Web Cutting - Day Shift (3 Day / 12 Hour)
About The Position
This role assists the Operator in safely setting up and operating a machine to produce quality products at the desired target speed. Team members are expected to act in accordance with the company's Core Values and Operating Principles, which include being Trustworthy, Servant-Hearted, Relational, and Resourceful. The position involves maintaining a clean work environment, ensuring product quality, labeling and stacking product, and utilizing machine downtime effectively for setup or other tasks. Team members may also be asked to perform different jobs or be temporarily placed in other departments based on production needs.
Requirements
- Experience operating a large format die cutter, preferably in a folding carton environment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills and ability to utilize software.
- Mechanical ability and skills.
- Ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English.
- Ability to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide both fractions and decimals, solve equations, read a tape measure, and have an understanding of both standard and metric measuring systems.
- Regular attendance and reporting for work on time.
- Availability for overtime work if necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Operator in safely setting up machine and operation of the machine to acquire quality product at the desired target speed of each run.
- Maintain a clean work environment including the machine, floors, desks, and fans in accordance with the 5S system.
- Responsible for quality of product manufactured, labeling and stacking of product.
- Handle and stack product neatly for the next operation.
- Effectively utilize any machine downtime (not including approved breaks) by assisting with set-up or performing other tasks associated with maintaining a clean work environment or as otherwise instructed by a supervisor.
- Occasionally perform a different job, or be temporarily placed in a different department based on production needs.
