Roll Decker - Forklift Operator
About The Position
TC Transcontinental is seeking a Roll Decker - Forklift Operator for its Owen Sound location. This role is responsible for the storage, inventory control, and distribution of paper rolls within the plant. The position ensures that press operations are supplied with the correct paper, maintains accurate inventory records, operates clamp trucks safely, and coordinates incoming and outgoing paper shipments. Requirements
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge with Excel and Word.
- Responsible for storage, inventory control, and distribution of paper rolls throughout the plant.
- Ensures press operations are supplied with the correct paper.
- Maintains accurate inventory records.
- Operates clamp trucks safely.
- Coordinates incoming and outgoing paper shipments.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming paper rolls.
- Maintain accurate paper inventory records and warehouse locations.
- Enter paper rolls into inventory systems and update stock quantities.
- Create and maintain production "Bibles" for scheduled press runs.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Organize warehouse storage for maximum efficiency and accessibility.
- Deliver paper rolls to presses according to production schedules.
- Ensure correct paper stock and roll orientation for each press.
- Coordinate with Roll Tenders to maintain uninterrupted production.
- Assist with paper substitutions and resolve stock-related issues.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure upcoming jobs are prepared.
- Perform daily inspections of clamp trucks and document findings.
- Safely operate clamp trucks and other material-handling equipment.
- Refill propane/natural gas tanks following safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
