About The Position

We are seeking Role Players to support a military tactical training exercise at Fort Pickett, VA. The role involves acting as Opposing Force (OPFOR) and adhering to specific scenario scripts. Role Players will be required to wear appropriate costuming, operate various military weapons systems (including those firing marking cartridges, paintball, and blank ammunition), and engage with trainees. Physical fitness is essential, as the role requires working in austere environments, potentially during darkness, and being comfortable with physical interactions such as being restrained and searched. Participants should expect to be engaged with non-lethal marking ammunition and must wear provided safety equipment, including a full-face helmet, throat guard, and groin guard. The contract duration is for 02-03 SEP, with a team size of 22 Role Players. A flat rate incentive of $320 is offered for full contract completion.

Requirements

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Be a US Citizen and can provide proof.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  • Be physically fit with no physical limitations or preexisting medical conditions that would preclude them from working in an austere environment and during the hours of darkness.
  • Shall be familiar with basic weapons handling including safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Role Player with Military/Law Enforcement experience/background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Stay on script for the scenario without adlibbing or changing the scope of the scenario.
  • Wear clothing, including costuming and headgear, appropriate to the scenario.
  • Operate various military weapons systems and fire marking cartridge weapons, paintball type weapons systems, and blank ammunition after instruction.
  • Act as Opposing Force (OPFOR), including being engaged with marking cartridge weapons.
  • Be physically fit with no limitations that would preclude working in an austere environment or during darkness.
  • Be familiar with basic weapons handling, including safety.
  • Be able to be restrained/zip-tied for prolonged periods.
  • Be comfortable with trainees frisking and searching them while restrained.
  • Be able to stand and lay prone for extended periods with and without restraints.
  • Participate in scenario training where they should expect to be shot at with non-lethal marking ammunition (Simmunitions, UTM, or paintballs) while wearing safety equipment.
  • Wear safety equipment consisting of a full-face helmet, throat guard, and groin guard.
