About The Position

This position involves operating robotic weld equipment to produce assemblies of metal work pieces to quality and efficiency standards. The role requires knowledge of metal properties, welding characteristics, and the ability to read and interpret prints and welding procedures. Safely completing finishing functions like grinding and sanding is also part of the job. This job description reflects the general nature and level of work being performed, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High school level education or equivalent specialized training which may be obtained in vocational courses or on the job.
• Requires knowledge of physical properties and welding characteristics of metal, effects of heat, welding shrinkage, welding techniques and allowance for thickness.
• Ability to read and understand welding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operates robotic weld equipment.
• Produces assemblies of metal work pieces to quality and efficiency standards, including repetitive lifting and placing metal work pieces and sheets into fixtures.
• Measures dimensions of work pieces to ensure conformance using calipers, micrometers, height gages, templates, etc.
• Reads prints to determine specifications and accurately complete all required functions.
• Safely completes finishing functions such as grinding, sanding, etc.
