2nd Shift- Robotic Weld Operator

PJ TrailersTigertown, TX
Onsite

About The Position

The Robotic Weld Operator will perform tasks related to the safe, accurate, and timely loading of componentry into weld tooling to produce welded trailer sub-assemblies. This includes verifying proper part orientation and fit, executing machine cycle start sequences, and safely unloading welded sub-assemblies. The operator will also be responsible for using lift devices, achieving production targets, performing routine machine maintenance, collecting production data, and immediately notifying the Team Leader of any issues. The role emphasizes adherence to safety requirements, manufacturing high-quality products, maintaining a clean work area, following standard work procedures, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Additionally, the operator will perform preventative maintenance, facilitate effective shift hand-offs with clear communication, participate in problem-solving, and cross-train on all robotic weld cells.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience working in a Manufacturing environment operating industrial machinery.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance functions on machinery or equipment, ideally in a manufacturing setting.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Exposure and/or Training in some form of disciplined Problem-Solving format is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Safe, Accurate & Timely loading of componentry into weld tooling as required to produce welded trailer sub-assemblies.
  • Verify proper part orientation and fit within weld tooling to ensure all part quality expectations will be achieved.
  • Proper execution of machine Cycle Start sequence steps they have been properly trained to perform.
  • Safe and Timely unloading of welded trailer sub-assemblies, placing weldments in the proper work-in-process cart for transfer to the Paint Operation.
  • Proper use of all Lift Devices provided at the cell, if applicable.
  • Achieve target machine cycle throughout the shift.
  • Perform assigned routine machine maintenance tasks they have been properly trained to perform.
  • Collect & Record production throughput and defect data as required.
  • Immediately notify Team Leader of any issues preventing the proper execution of these tasks.
  • Follow all defined Safety Requirements for the assigned Robotic Work-cell.
  • Be responsible for their personal safety as well as the safety of those around them.
  • Manufacture the highest level of Quality product possible with the Materials & Tools provided.
  • If something is observed to be wrong, stop the process and notify the Team Leader immediately.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness within their assigned robotic work-cell.
  • Follow all prescribed Standard Work required to achieve target machine cycle times.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement within their assigned work-cell.
  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance to the Robotic Work-cell at the established frequency and following all defined standard work.
  • Drive continuous improvement to assigned Preventative Maintenance tasks.
  • Facilitate the effective hand-off of the robotic work-cell to their incoming shift peer.
  • Ensure effective communication of all issues experienced, corrective actions taken as well as critical conditions requiring ongoing monitoring.
  • Participate in formal problem-solving when required.
  • Cross-train on all robotic Weld Cells.
