About The Position

Toledo Tool & Die is adding Robotic Weld Operators to our team to support our continued growth. This is a full-time position based in Toledo, Ohio. We offer competitive wages, growth opportunities, and a clean, safe work environment. The schedule is for the 2nd Shift, working 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts. This rotation includes every other weekend. Employees work approximately 84 hours over a two-week pay period. This schedule requires the ability to work overnight 12-hour shifts and every other weekend as part of the regular rotation. Overtime (daily, weekends & some holidays) is also required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete pre-employment screening (background check and drug screen).
  • Identified candidates must be able to work overtime (daily, weekends and holidays).
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Report to work on time to support production startup.
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds.
  • Work as a team, good communication skills, basic math skills, physical dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a factory is beneficial but not necessary
  • Experience operating large industrial equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Start machines, monitor their operation to ensure it is processing properly, and record operational data for material tracking and record number of pieces produced with other documentation to run the machine.
  • Operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal material.
  • Load work pieces into machines.
  • Examine and inspect completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
  • Read production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used to be compliant with customer specifications relative to dimensions and tolerances.
  • Verify and document dimensions of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, including but not limited to calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Assist in completing simple to intermediate tasks associated with coil and die changes.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
