About The Position

This is a pro-bono volunteer position. JerseySTEM provides free after school STEM classes to underserved middle school girls grade 5-8. JerseySTEM is seeking a dedicated and skilled Robotics Team Lead to oversee and guide our robotics initiatives. This role plays a crucial part in our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls, fostering their interest and skills in robotics and technology.

Requirements

• Proficiency in robotics design, programming, and electronics.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Experience working with middle school students or youth robotics programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Problem-solving mindset and creativity in designing robotics projects.
• Knowledge of STEM education principles and hands-on learning methods.
• Comfortable using relevant software and hardware tools for robotics.
• Collaborative and adaptable approach to teamwork.
• Passion for promoting STEM education and gender equity.

Responsibilities

• Work with Program Design Team Lead and Community Engagement Team Lead to define overall goal of the designated course
• Manage and support a team comprising of Curriculum Designers to: Research existing curricula, Curate existing material and develop new material, Develop Google Classroom Material in 10 lessons, Produce both Teacher and Student material, Organize and document “Train the Trainer” sessions, Deliver the training to the Program Instructors
• Attend a weekly team call for collaboration (TBD)
