About The Position

We are seeking a 2nd Shift Robotic Welding Operator for our Smyrna, Tennessee Plant. This role involves the setup, maintenance, and operation of robotic welding equipment to fabricate metallic parts or assemblies. The position requires individuals who are motivated, punctual, and hard-working, with opportunities for increased responsibilities and pay based on experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively with others.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills.
  • Knowledgeable of automation equipment, processes, and systems.
  • Interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Adapt to technology changes quickly and seamlessly.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity in extremities to open and close clamps, grab onto parts and push buttons.
  • Basic computer skills, e-mail, excel and time keeping systems.
  • Must be able to clear drug screen and background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (Required).
  • High school or equivalent (Required) with classes in Robotics and/or Welding at the Junior College level.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in Welding, Metals Fabrication or Machining and/or an associate’s degree in Welding or Robotics.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, maintenance, and operation of robotic welding equipment.
  • Fabrication of metallic parts or assemblies through welding by the means of a robotic machine.
  • Programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting welding robots.
  • Implementing robotic welding into production.
  • Ability to select and change tools per SOP.
  • Apply principles of basic welding fundamentals, understand AWS symbols and blueprints.
  • Visual inspection of parts to confirm correct weld path.
  • Identify and select correct robotic welding parameters, welding procedures, operations, and programs.
  • Create robotic welding programs, modify existing welding programs, and conduct welding cell cycle time calculations.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance of robotic equipment and welding equipment.
