About The Position

American Trim is seeking Robotic Polishing Operators to operate specialized automated equipment used to polish and finish manufactured components. This hands-on position is a great opportunity for someone with manufacturing or machine operating experience who has mechanical aptitude and enjoys working with automated equipment. The Robotic Polishing Operator is responsible for safely setting up, operating and monitoring automated polishing work cells while maintaining established quality and productivity requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing, machine operating, automated equipment or related production experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work within established production schedules and rates.
  • Ability to inspect parts and identify visual quality concerns.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a production team.
  • Must be willing and able to complete approximately 2–4 weeks of training on 1st or 3rd shift.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.

  • Forklift Certification: This position requires company forklift certification. Employees must successfully complete a drug screening as part of the initial certification process and any required recertification process, in accordance with company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate and monitor automated/robotic polishing equipment according to established procedures.
  • Complete product and equipment changeovers, including changing polishing buffs, compound and applicable tooling or process components.
  • Deburr outside edges of parts as required.
  • Perform required quality inspections before production and after final processing.
  • Monitor production performance and complete required production documentation.
  • Organize tools, equipment and materials to support efficient product changeovers.
  • Identify and communicate production, equipment and quality concerns to supervision and appropriate support personnel, including relevant information between shifts.
  • Follow established safety, environmental and operating procedures, including applicable JSA, ESA, ASA and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
