About The Position

The Robotic Operator will be responsible for system operation and upkeep. This includes but is not limited to: System Safety, System Operation, Intermediate Troubleshooting using the robot alarm screen and HMI, Assigned Preventative Maintenance, Area Cleanliness, and Communication with operators, supervisors, maintenance, and technical staff.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret Technique Cards, routings, and other special instructions.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to resolve problems and share information with others.
Ability to work independently.
Physical ability to perform the essential job functions including lifting or maneuvering objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in difficult working conditions, which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and other elements for extended periods of time.
Understanding of Lock-Out/Tag-Out Procedures.
Understanding of Confined Space Procedures.
Understanding of General Plant and Department Safety Procedures.

Prior robotic experience strongly preferred but not required.
Self-motivated.

Responsibilities

Understand all system safety requirements and be responsible for keeping the cell in a safe working order. If an issue arises, the Robotic Operator will shut the system down and work with the supervisor, maintenance, and technical staff to resolve the issue.
Perform basic system operation tasks including loading/unloading parts, replacing consumables, scanning parts/lots, starting programs, part inspection, and running Tool Center Point (TCP) programs.
Demonstrate a basic understanding of total system function and the ability to trace issues to major peripheral systems.
Monitor the production process based on defined criteria in Technique Cards.
Perform intermediate troubleshooting to maximize cell uptime, including determining the sub-system causing failure, jogging the robot, identifying and recovering robot faults, and intermediate troubleshooting of vision and process systems.
Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks and provide feedback to supervisors and technical staff.
Keep the work area free of debris and verify tool boards are properly maintained.
Provide fault recovery feedback to operators and communicate suggestions for system improvement or issue resolution to supervisors or technical staff.
Assist maintenance staff with system operation when necessary.
Complete logs and records.
Perform other tasks as directed.
